I've had to change this page as the information was becoming dated. It's obvious, really, as we get older the information is going to change!
No longer new to blogging, I have two sites up and running. I decided on two different blogs because the content is totally different. On this site I have chosen to write about current affairs or news-worthy items. My other site is more light reading and not so serious (Shoghun's Space if you want to visit it).
Now retired from the British Army, I served over twenty two years before an accident forced me to be medically discharged. No longer able to do the things I used to enjoy doing, I had to find new ways with which to keep myself occupied. I always fancied writing, thoughts of novels and fiction have been with me for years. I just never had the time to sit down and write. That has all changed.
As I mentioned, I decided to write about my views on current affairs. I am well read and considered fairly intelligent and so I use that and my experience in order to form my opinions. I try to be as objective as I can and not distort the article with media hype and the like. Unfortunately, none of us can be truly objective and occasionally my personal views come through. I am only human, after all.
Being British, the articles will have a British slant or bias on them. I have worked around the world with numerous foreign services and have a limited perspective of how other nations view the world. I try and include all the insights I have observed into my articles. Sometimes I am harsh but I will support my comments or observations with facts and not just rant about something.
My hope is to give whoever reads my articles another viewpoint on issues I think need looking at. I try and stick to whatever is topical but sometimes I will write about something that I think should be highlighted.
I hope my articles are well received and easy to understand. I hope that whoever reads my words learns something or, if not, writes a comment on whether they believe I am right or wrong. At the end of the day, I am still learning and if someone can help me along that road, it will be appreciated.
I have also added adverts which I hope you will click on. I am hoping that I will be able to get some revenue from this site as I will not be able to work again. Thank you.
